Academic Leaders’ Message

Academic Leaders

Education is not preparation of life; education is life itself- This profound saying by John Dewey forms the cornerstone of the educational philosophy that we subscribe at KWS. We welcome all aspiring learners to be a part of this wonderful experience of discovering and achieving your potential with us.

As the saying goes, it takes a village to raise a child – we work in partnership with our parents and students to make KWS a caring, safe and rich learning environment where students have the time and space to learn, dream, explore, experiment and grow.

Ms. Vani Rana
Vice Principal (Head of Elementary & Middle School)

Our school’s mission is to prepare dynamic individuals who can face the challenging, complex and interconnected global community and play a productive and proactive role in their respective communities.

To achieve this mission, we offer our learners a comprehensive education from elementary to secondary level. Our school is a caring community where students’ needs are a priority and where traditional Eastern and modern Western educational values are respected and encouraged to coexist.

The academic programme is rigorous and meaningful. Our core subjects of English, Math, Nepali, Science and Social Studies are integrated with the tools of technology and enriched by the framework of the International Primary Curriculum (IPC). Art, Music, Physical Education, Dance, Drama and Literature help us provide a balanced approach to learning and growing.

The use of the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) framework emphasizes the progressive approach that our school takes with every student. The co-operative effort of students, parents and teachers is at the heart of the learning pathways followed by our students and determine the outcomes they achieve.

Our faculty is knowledgeable, experienced and committed! They regularly attend in-house workshops, national and international trainings in order to remain current with trends in teaching and learning.

We feel honored to be part of the Kathmandu World School family, and look forward to working with parents as we collaborate to make our students become independent, life-long learners anchored in sound moral values, and who are creative and enthusiastic in facing future life challenges.
