World-class Infrastructure

The school environment is serene and intentional in order to inspire and facilitate effective learning. All the buildings, including the Extra–Curricular Activity (ECA) block, incorporate shockproof features to withstand earthquakes and ensure the safety of students. The classrooms are spacious, air–conditioned and equipped with broadband Internet connection, CCTV and a fire alarm system. The design of the buildings is both aesthetic and utilitarian while the design of the buildings reflects Nepalese architecture and heritage.

We also have the provision of fully equipped Multipurpose Halls, well–stocked libraries, science labs, computer labs, cafeteria, health care center and a dedicated Extra Curricular Activity (ECA) block with a swimming pool, a futsal court, several instruments–based music rooms, sports and fitness gyms as well as medium–based visual art studios. All the facilities are designed with the purpose to nurture the diverse talents of our students.

Learning Spaces


Performing Arts
and Visual Art Studios

The school has plants to set up a number of dedicated studios for Performing Arts (Dance, Music and Drama), Visual Arts (Fine Art, Fabric Painting, Collage, Sculpture, etc.), Martial Arts (Judo, Wushu and Taekwondo) as well as Gymnastics. These facilities will be housed in the dedicated ECA block which is nearing completion and is envisioned to come into operations from August 2019.Students are encouraged to explore and develop their creative and artistic capabilities in instrument–based music studios (Violin, Keyboard, percussion instruments, etc.) and medium–based art studios (Collage, Fabric painting, Sculpture and Fine Art).

Sports and
Physical Activities

The school will have a dedicated extra–curricular activities (ECA) building and a sports department with professional coaches and trainers, who will constantly challenge and guide every child to develop their skills, resilience and competitive spirit. The school will have its own swimming pool, outdoor playgrounds, basketball courts, futsal pitch and a well- equipped multi–purpose court under the ECA building, which will be ready for use by August 2019.

Library

The library forms the core of our literacy programme and is the hub for all research and inquiry projects. We have a spacious and well–stocked library – with designated sections for the junior students (grades 1-8) and for the senior students (grades 9 and above). Trained librarians, who are knowledgeable and experienced in Library Management are in the helm of affairs at the library. A collection of printed resources (books, magazines, periodicals, research manuscripts, doctoral thesis, etc.) along with access to digitized online publications are available for students and teachers. Partitioned areas are segregated for individual–study as well as for group discussions and presentation.

Modern Science and
Computer Laboratories

We have the latest educational tools including Information and Computer Technology (ICT) for use in our Science and Computer Laboratories to enhance learning experiences, and develop critical thinking and problem–solving skills. Each of the academic wings on completion, will have its own Computer Laboratory. Subject specific laboratories (for Physics, Chemistry, Zoology and Botany) are provided for Secondary school students (Grade 9 to 12/ A Level) to provide a deep understanding of the practical knowledge of the subject. A general science laboratory is available for Elementary school students (Grade 1 – 8).

NEB Science

The Science stream follows the academic curriculum prescribed by the National Examination Board (NEB) and is designed to study and teach Sciences so as to encourage and enable learners to develop inquiring minds and curiosity about science and the natural world. The science students are encouraged to acquire knowledge, conceptual understanding and skills to solve problems and make informed decisions in scientific and other contexts. At KWS, we strive to prepare and produce individuals capable of understanding and evaluating information that is, or purports to be, scientific in nature and of making informed decisions that incorporate that information appropriately, and, furthermore, to provide a strong foundation that supports advanced study in Science and research.

High school course in Science prepares students for future careers, including but not limited to, analytical scientist, medical personnel, engineer, biomedical engineer, biomedical scientist, researcher, environmentalist, and academic positions in physics, chemistry, pharmacology, genetics, microbiology, geology, medical research, forensics, etc.


NEB Management

The Management stream follows the academic curriculum prescribed by the National Examination Board (NEB) and is designed to provide students with a thorough understanding of business concepts and their theoretical underpinnings.

At KWS, we provide the Management students with an array of classroom activities beyond their requisite courses in the form of non-credit courses including foreign language instruction, communication skills and presentation coaching, to enhance and stimulate their information literacy skills. The classes run Sundays through Fridays and between 8:00 in the morning to 3:30 in the evening. We aim to equip the management students with a strong foundation that supports advanced study in business and stimulate innovative and entrepreneurial thinking.

High school course in management prepares students for future careers, including but not limited to; advertising, banking, investment and financial services, general management, HR/personnel management, public relations, retail management.


Home Away from Home
We have provision of boarding facilities for students that are comfortable, secure and homely.

Boarding House

The Boarding houses are located within a short walking distance from the school buildings. The boarding house has separate buildings for girls and boys. All the buildings are equipped with modern facilities and have well–furnished rooms. Every hostel building has an indoor entertainment / activity room as well as a common lounge where the students can study, and enjoy the company of their friends.

Hostel students are under the care and guidance of an experienced and dedicated Head of Boarding and Hostel Parent, along with attendants who are on duty round the clock to ensure the safety and comfort of the students. A visiting doctor and full–time residential nursing staff is available to provide first aid services for minor ailments.

Admission Policies
and Procedures

The school is open Sunday through Friday from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm. The school administration remains open Sunday through Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm except for holidays. Uniform

Students have to follow a prescribed dress to maintain uniformity. The uniform set includes a Blazer, two sets of shirts, two pairs of pants, a tie and cardigan. Besides the regular uniform attire, the students are provided with a T-shirt and Track pant for sports and activities.

Scholarship

We offer various scholarship schemes for academically deserving and needy students. In addition to the Government Scholarship availed by students of the local ward and vicinity, the school provides scholarships to students on the basis of their performance in the SEE and entrance examination and also an internal scholarship scheme based on the performance of students in the terminal examinations held thrice in an academic year.
